The 14th is another difficult driving hole, with the fairway sloping severely from left to right where it curves to the right past a somewhat contentiously placed bunker. There is very little landing room and the drive must find the left part of the fairway if it is not to perish. To duck the issue and play short from the tee leaves an unwelcome long approach shot to be played, while to try to drive clear of the trouble requires a clear carry of something over 250 yards. Given a successful drive, the approach is then played downhill to a flat green with a bunker on the left which makes it difficult to get to the pin when it is cut on that side. A bunker 50 yards in front of the green should not normally be a factor to the good player.
