For most players the sensible line for the drive is to aim for the 1st tee. A series of banks and gullies interrupts the fairway and many will find themselves playing their second shot from the very bottom of a gully. In summer, however, long hitters might drive clear of the far ridge, taking advantage of the downslope of another gully, finishing perhaps 60 or 70 yards from the front of the green. The approach shot must be played in the knowledge that the ball will break from right to left on landing. There are two bunkers to the right of the green. The landing area and entrance are narrow and a strong shot may well run off the green at the back left. Anywhere on the left is a tight spot for the pin.
