Competent players should have no difficulty in clearing the bunkers eating into the right of the fairway on this scenic drive-and-pitch hole. The second shot will then be no more than a wedge to the joint-longest green on the course (36 yards, which is also the length of the 11th green). Less proficient players, however, cannot fail to notice how narrow is the entrance to the green, between a pair of bunkers. It can be unwise to attack a pin cut on the left of the green where the putting surface leans towards a greenside bunker.
