The Club is committed to the development of a thriving Junior Section. Our activities include
competitions normally played on Sundays, regular Saturday morning lessons and golf tuition
days during school holidays arranged by our Professional, Gary Norcott and the Assistant Professional Joe Bowers.
The dedication of Jamie, the Junior Committee, parents and players is now beginning to pay
dividends and during the 2012 season the Club won the Cheshire Junior Team Championship
and Sam Turner represented the County.
One of our main events each year is Junior Captain's Day with an 18 hole competition for the more experienced players and a 12 hole competition for those with less experience. This year hospitality was provided by the Captain, Peter Bennett, and over 18 holes the result was:
1st Oliver Brady (14 hdcp) 42 points
2nd Steven Warhurst (3 hdcp) 37 points
3rd Sam Turner (3 hdcp) 37 points
The 12 hole competition which was won by Henry Davies, included Nathan Atkinson playing in his first competition. Nathan, a warm welcome to Stockport Golf Club.
