Firstly on behalf of Stockport Golf Club can we welcome you and hope you enjoy our course.

As you are aware we are in difficult times and so there are some rules we have to insist on for the protection of you, your partners and our staff. Our clubhouse is currently not open so please be aware of this.

All Bookings must be paid online or via the office – our Pro shop will not be open for the time being.

  • Please arrive no more than 20 minutes before your booked tee time.
  • Start on the 1st tee only – a starter will be there to ensure your safety.
  • Please change in the car park or come ready to play – the clubhouse remains closed – there are no toilet facilities.
  • Observe social distancing on putting green and in practice nets/chipping area.
  • Leave the flag in and do not touch it
  • All rakes, ball washers and bins have been taken in – please smooth the bunker with your foot/club on leaving – leave it as you would like to find it.
  • Bring your own drinks AND take your rubbish home with you
  • Greens staff have priority and keep a good distance away from them.
  • Please do not congregate or stay around the clubhouse/car park after play no matter how tempting it is to have a drink with your partners.

We hope to see you back soon when rules allow to enjoy not just the course but our clubhouse too.

We’re proud of our Club and we welcome visitors who wish to share our great course, facilities and traditions.

You’ll love the course, particularly the difficult 1st hole that plays its full distance of 463 yards from the back tees. There is a steep bank running across the fairway at 200 yards and a big dip for any shot hit to the right, the second shot needs to be hit correctly onto the green that slopes from back to front.

The 8th is the most memorable of all the holes. It is a par 3 of 201 yards and there is trouble almost everywhere you look. There is out of bounds on the right, and around the green. The three bunkers by the green are to be avoided. Once on the green you’re faced with a putt which will be affected by the slopes, this makes two putts very difficult to achieve.

Many thanks to George Thornley Bold Media for their brilliant drone footage of the hugely successful

Andrew Murray Golf day held at the club on the 12th September.
